omidbasir- Frank’s tenure at Tottenham concluded with him officially recognized as the least successful manager in the history of the Premier League’s ‘big six’. Under his leadership, Spurs amassed only 29 points from 26 league matches and have yet to secure a domestic victory in 2026, with their only wins this calendar year occurring against Bundesliga teams Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

On Saturday, Igor Tudor was confirmed as Frank’s successor, and he has already received valuable insights from Harry Redknapp, who managed the club from 2008 to 2012 and led them to their first Champions League appearance in the modern era. In an article for The Sun, Redknapp emphasized the importance of instilling belief in the players, stating, “With belief, anything is possible. Injecting Tottenham’s players with much-needed confidence will be the biggest challenge for interim boss Igor Tudor when he meets his squad.”

He recalled his own experience when he took over at White Hart Lane in 2008, noting that his first task was to uplift the spirits of key players like Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, who were struggling with their confidence after a poor start to the season. Redknapp shared, “I had to make Modric truly believe there was no one better than him in the Premier League at that time. And everything flowed from belief. The players cannot be embarrassed to work hard, run after every ball, and keep chasing and pushing when they lose it.”

Redknapp also pointed out that young talents such as Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, the latter recognized as a potential future captain, could help steer the team away from relegation threats. He dismissed suggestions that Cristian Romero should be stripped of the captaincy, arguing that doing so would undermine the team’s morale and cohesion.

“You cannot take the armband away from him, as much as that would seem an easy fix. Strip Romero of the captaincy, and you have lost him from day one. For the short term, you need him on your side and with you; however, there needs to be a candid conversation regarding his lack of discipline,” Redknapp noted.

Furthermore, he praised 19-year-old Archie Gray as a role model for the squad, stating, “Gray was Tottenham’s player of the year for me last season and delivers whenever or wherever you play him. He embodies the commitment and desire that the rest of the team should aspire to. The young players at Tottenham, including Gray and Bergvall, have been outperforming the veterans for too long, and it’s time for the senior members to follow their lead.”

Tudor’s first match in charge promises to be significant, as his team prepares to host Arsenal in the highly anticipated north London derby next Sunday. While Tudor is not expected to remain in the managerial role beyond this season, Tottenham is considering a more permanent appointment for the summer, with candidates like Roberto De Zerbi and former manager Mauricio Pochettino under consideration.
