NEC Responds to Conditional Fine Following Fireworks Incident

NEC is expressing significant frustration following the unsuccessful appeal against a conditional fine related to a fireworks incident at De Goffert. In a recent episode of the podcast “De Bestuurskamer,” director Wilco van Schaik shared his thoughts on the matter.

Van Schaik articulated his deep disappointment, stating, “I am incredibly frustrated and disheartened. It has become clear to me that the prosecutor does not engage with the reality of the situation as we do. I feel ashamed for having brought two individuals to such a meeting. It is astounding.” He continued, “As a club, we take extensive measures to prevent incidents and prioritize safety. However, despite our efforts, including acknowledging our mistakes and implementing eight sanctions along with four stadium bans, it seems that it is still not enough. They continue to demand more, even with the presence of three legal experts in the discussion.”
