Negotiations Intensify Over Undav’s Contract at Stuttgart

Sport Bild has reported that negotiations regarding a contract extension for Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav are proving to be quite complex.

Undav’s current contract with Stuttgart is set to expire in 2027, and the club is eager to avoid allowing him to enter the final year of his agreement. As a result, discussions surrounding an extension are intensifying.

The primary point of contention is that Undav is seeking a three-year extension, whereas Stuttgart is only willing to offer a two-year deal. Additionally, Undav, who will turn 30 in July, is not anticipated to receive a salary increase beyond his current annual compensation of €4.5 million.

If the parties cannot reach an agreement before the summer, there is a possibility that Undav may depart from Bad Cannstatt. Despite his comfort at Mercedesstraße, he has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, including those in the Premier League.

Although the beginning of this season was marred by injury, Undav has demonstrated the best form of his career. In 26 appearances this season, the 29-year-old has recorded 14 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions, significantly contributing to VfB’s performance in both the Bundesliga and European tournaments.
