Negotiations Over Deniz Undav s Contract Extension at Stuttgart IntensifyNegotiations Over Deniz Undav s Contract Extension at Stuttgart Intensify

Sport Bild reports that negotiations for a contract extension between Stuttgart and striker Deniz Undav are becoming increasingly complex.

Undav’s current contract with Stuttgart is set to expire in 2027, and the club is keen to avoid allowing him to enter the final year of his contract. Consequently, discussions regarding an extension are intensifying.

The primary issue lies in the duration of the extension. Undav is seeking a three-year contract, whereas Stuttgart is only willing to offer a two-year deal. It is noteworthy that Undav will turn 30 in July of this year and is not expected to receive an increase in his current salary of €4.5 million per annum.

If an agreement is not reached prior to the summer transfer window, it is possible that Undav may depart from Bad Cannstatt. Despite feeling settled at Mercedesstraße, he continues to attract interest from several clubs across Europe, including those in the Premier League.

Although Undav’s season began with injury setbacks, he has since demonstrated outstanding form, contributing significantly to VfB’s performance in both the Bundesliga and European competitions. In 26 appearances this season, the 29-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided eight assists, underscoring his value to the team.
