Noni Madueke, the winger who joined Arsenal from Chelsea for £48.5 million this summer, has not let criticism from some fans affect him. A petition titled #NoToMadueke, which garnered over 4,000 signatures opposing his signing, is now a thing of the past for the 23-year-old player.

Following his first goal for Arsenal in a 3-1 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, Madueke commented, “You are in the public eye – people can say whatever they want about you. However, the support I have received from fans during matches has been incredible.”

Despite missing six of Arsenal’s twelve Premier League matches this season due to a knee injury sustained in the draw with Manchester City in September, Madueke made a successful return during the recent north London derby, contributing to a resounding 4-1 win against Tottenham.

Reflecting on the match against Tottenham, he stated, “It was an incredible experience, and it has certainly boosted my confidence. I can feel and hear the support from the fans, and it motivates me immensely. I’m genuinely thrilled about it.”

Looking ahead, Arsenal will face Chelsea, who are currently six points behind them in the league, at Stamford Bridge this Sunday. Madueke acknowledged, “The atmosphere might be hostile, but as a professional footballer, I’ve played in various challenging environments. I aim to remain focused on the task at hand. This match is not about me; it’s about ensuring Arsenal secures three points and moves closer to our goals.”

Arsenal’s recent victory over Bayern showcased their dominant second-half performance, further solidifying their position in the league.
