Orri Óskarsson’s presence at Zubieta marks a significant development for Real Sociedad as he appears to have overcome the muscle injury he sustained during a brief appearance against Osasuna last week. This injury kept him sidelined during the match against Barcelona on Sunday. The Icelandic forward participated in training with his teammates, unlike Arsen Zakharyan, who remains unavailable due to ongoing muscle discomfort.

Óskarsson is eager to regain consistency in both his training and match play after missing four months due to various muscle issues. His previous injury occurred just five minutes into the match against Osasuna, where he was substituted before the game extended into extra time, turning out to be more of a scare than a serious setback.

Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo is dealing with player absences ahead of Sunday’s match against Celta, particularly with Take Kubo out due to injury and Carlos Soler suspended. In light of these challenges, he has called up several players from the reserve team, including Job Ochieng, Dani Díaz, Ibai Aguirre, and Gorka Carrera. The absence of Kubo and Soler for the match at Anoeta this Sunday at 18:30 could open the door for one or more of these young players to join the squad.
