Oscar Fraulo Set for Move to Derby County from Borussia Mönchengladbach

According to Denmark’s Tipsbladet, Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Oscar Fraulo is poised to transfer to Derby County. The 22-year-old Dane finds himself with limited prospects at his Bundesliga club, despite scoring his first Bundesliga goal this season. Overall, Fraulo has made four substitute appearances in the league this year.

While the Danish publication does not specify a transfer fee, it is widely believed that Fraulo will be making a permanent move to the EFL Championship. His current contract is set to expire, allowing him the potential to join Derby County for free at the end of the season. However, the Derbyshire club can secure his services immediately for a reasonable fee.

Fraulo’s estimated market value currently stands at €3.5 million. Borussia Mönchengladbach’s sporting management has consistently expressed support for the player, whom they acquired from FC Midtjylland for €2 million in the summer of 2022. Former sporting director Roland Virkus, in particular, has frequently highlighted the young midfielder’s potential. Fraulo has showcased his versatility by successfully playing in several midfield positions and was notably linked with a transfer to Mainz this summer.

Previously, Gladbach loaned Fraulo to FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie. During his two-season stint from 2023 to 2025, he made 59 appearances in the Dutch top division, scoring five goals. However, Fraulo has faced challenges due to the highly competitive nature of the midfield at Gladbach, a situation that remains unchanged this year.
