Outkast and MUNDIAL Launch Stankonia F.C. Capsule to Celebrate 25 Years of Hip-Hop Innovation

Outkast and MUNDIAL have joined forces to unveil a limited-edition capsule collection, Stankonia F.C., in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking album, ‘Stankonia.’ This collaboration also coincides with the Atlanta duo’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend.

André 3000 and Big Boi, the influential figures behind Outkast, have teamed up with the innovative football and lifestyle publication, MUNDIAL, to merge the worlds of hip-hop and soccer. The Stankonia F.C. capsule reimagines the iconic album as a fictional soccer club, showcasing the duo’s creative spirit that has defied genre conventions for a quarter of a century.

Released in 2000, ‘Stankonia’ is a 24-track, genre-bending masterpiece that has left an indelible mark on the hip-hop landscape. Its experimental nature opened avenues for musical exploration, blending elements of funk, rock, psychedelia, and rave music, thus reshaping the artistic landscape of rap.

To commemorate the album’s release, the collection features a soccer jersey adorned with historic black and white Stars and Stripes, inspired by the album’s cover art. The jersey showcases a classic 90s style, complete with a perfectly proportioned collar, the Outkast logo, and the monochrome U.S. flag. Above the chest, the lyrics ‘Foreva Eva’ from their celebrated single ‘Ms. Jackson’ are featured, with the number ’25’ and ‘Stankonia’ prominently displayed on the back. A pinstripe design from the album spine adds a touch of retro flair.

The capsule also includes a short-sleeved t-shirt featuring a custom Stankonia F.C. crest, while a long-sleeve shirt showcases the club’s name in a striking gothic font. Additionally, a black hoodie is adorned with the lyrics ‘The sky is falling, ain’t no need to panic’ from the track ‘So Fresh, So Clean.’

Launching just ahead of Outkast’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in anticipation of the 2026 World Cup in their hometown, Stankonia F.C. celebrates Outkast’s boundary-breaking legacy. This collection illustrates the unbounded creativity at the intersection of music, fashion, and soccer, further solidifying their enduring influence 25 years after their iconic album transformed the sound of hip-hop.
