Paul Mullin Voices Frustration Over Treatment at WrexhamPaul Mullin Voices Frustration Over Treatment at Wrexham

omidbasir- Paul Mullin has openly criticized his parent club, Wrexham, stating that he will “never accept” the way he was sidelined from the team over the past 18 months.

Mullin became a pivotal player for Wrexham, contributing significantly to the club’s back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One, aided by the high-profile ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, as showcased in the FX documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham.”

Despite scoring a remarkable total of 62 league goals during these promotion campaigns, Mullin found himself starting in less than half of the club’s league matches last season, managing to score only three times during an injury-plagued year.

As Wrexham celebrated their historic third consecutive promotion, marking their first appearance in England’s second tier in 43 years, Mullin was deemed surplus to requirements and loaned to Wigan Athletic at the beginning of the current season. Following the premature termination of that loan in January, he subsequently joined Bradford City on loan until the end of the season.

“It’s something I’ve found quite challenging over the last 18 months. It was sort of out of the blue, after everything that I’ve done and then getting surgery,” Mullin remarked at a press conference on Friday. “It sort of ended from there really, which was difficult to take.

“I’m never going to accept it, what happened, because it’s something that I find quite tough, but that’s football, and you move on.”

Wrexham, now led by Wales striker Kieffer Moore, currently occupies the final playoff position in the Championship as they aim for another promotion, this time to the Premier League.

On the other hand, Mullin is set to join a Bradford City squad striving for promotion from League One, with Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson labeling the transfer “a good opportunity to be part of a team challenging at the top of the league.”

“I’ve got an opportunity now at a massive club to be successful here and write another chapter in my career,” Mullin expressed.

“It’s more about myself; I just want to be successful. I want to go and do it again, again and again. So I just want to play games and be successful.

“I don’t really feel like I’ve got anything to prove.”
