omidbasir- Significant news from Germany: Paul Wanner will now represent Austria in international matches instead of Germany, as reported by the German outlet TZ. The attacking midfielder from PSV has previously played multiple matches for Germany’s youth teams.

Wanner’s decision to switch allegiance to Austria comes as he was born in Dornbirn, Austria, thus holding dual nationality. The 20-year-old midfielder and winger has consistently represented Germany at the youth level, but he is now opting for an international career with his country of birth, which could lead to his participation in the 2026 World Cup.

After a challenging start in Eindhoven, Wanner has secured a starting position in the team coached by Peter Bosz. Out of the last ten matches, he has begun nine as a starter. Bosz utilizes Wanner in various roles, including as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and winger. To date, Wanner has scored three goals for the reigning national champions.
