Pep Guardiola Reflects on Disappointing Interaction After Newcastle DefeatPep Guardiola Reflects on Disappointing Interaction After Newcastle Defeat

omidbasir- Pep Guardiola has expressed feelings of embarrassment and shame regarding his recent interaction with a television cameraman following Manchester City’s defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

The confrontation, which appeared to be heated, took place on the pitch at St James’ Park. Guardiola was also seen engaged in animated discussions with referee Samuel Barrott and Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães after the 2-1 loss.

In a news conference held on Monday, Guardiola addressed the incident with the cameraman, stating that he has since apologized for his behavior. “I feel embarrassed, ashamed when I see it,” he admitted. “I don’t like it. I apologized after one second to the cameraman. I am who I am. After 1,000 games, I’m not a perfect person; I make huge mistakes. It’s not about that. What is certain is that I defend my team and my club.”

During a tense press conference ahead of the Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, Guardiola also took a subtle jab at the agent of Claudio Echeverri. The young Argentine, currently on loan from Manchester City to Leverkusen, has struggled for playing time since his transfer to the Bundesliga.

Guardiola indicated that the club would have preferred Echeverri to join Girona, a team within the City Football Group. “Always, I would love for players to play a lot of minutes; the intention is always there,” he said regarding Echeverri’s situation. “We have an incredible appreciation for him as a football player. I am sure, pretty sure, his agent will know everything.”

When asked about the possibility of Echeverri returning to Manchester City in January, Guardiola responded, “That is a question for his beautiful agent.”
