Port Vale currently finds itself at the bottom of League One, having secured only two victories in their twelve home games at Vale Park this season.

Due to severe weather conditions caused by Storm Chandra sweeping across the UK, three matches in the English Football League scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed.

The League One fixture between Port Vale and AFC Wimbledon has been canceled following a pitch inspection by referee Ben Toner, who determined the surface was “unplayable” due to significant amounts of standing water.

Similar issues at Whaddon Road have resulted in the postponement of Cheltenham Town’s League Two match against Gillingham.

Additionally, Barrow’s game against Oldham in the fourth tier has also been called off due to safety concerns related to high winds at their SO Legal Stadium. The decision was made based on recommendations from the safety advisory group, as wind speeds and gusts reached levels that posed a risk to supporter safety.

The club issued a statement indicating that these weather conditions impact not only the stadium but also local travel routes and the effectiveness of emergency services if needed.
