Premier League Team and Manager of the Week Troy Deeney s SelectionsPremier League Team and Manager of the Week Troy Deeney s Selections

After each round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney presents his selections for the Team and Manager of the Week. Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? We invite your thoughts via the comments section at the bottom of this page.

**Senne Lammens (Manchester United):** Initially, I considered David Raya for this spot; however, one exceptional save does not suffice for Team of the Week selection. Lammens made several key saves against Newcastle, effectively managing his area and providing Manchester United with a much-needed foundation to build upon—a significant contribution for just £18 million.

**Declan Rice (Arsenal):** In the recent match against Brighton, I observed Rice playing in a right-back position. Despite this role, he was highly influential, both offensively and defensively, handling every situation with poise while ensuring Brighton posed no threats.

**Archie Gray (Tottenham):** Although he was utilized as a midfielder against Crystal Palace, I am including Gray in the team for his versatility and crucial contribution. He netted the winning goal and has adeptly filled various positions for Spurs, proving his worth with consistent performances.

**Kevin Danso (Tottenham):** Once thought to be merely a squad player, Danso has continuously impressed every time he takes the field. His consistent execution of responsibilities has made him an asset to the team.

**Lisandro Martinez (Manchester United):** Standing at just 5’7″ or 5’8″, Martinez showcased his abilities brilliantly against Nick Woltemade, effectively neutralizing him throughout the match. His successful return from injury is invaluable, bolstering both his personal aspirations and the team’s prospects.

**Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool):** Gravenberch’s performance is straightforward: when he excels, Liverpool thrives. He scored a noteworthy goal against Wolves, which, while not the most commendable achievement, demonstrated his critical role in the team’s dynamics.

**Tijjani Reijnders (Manchester City):** This was likely Reijnders’ standout performance since the opening game of the season against Wolves. His goal and overall impact suggest he is beginning to show the form that made him a standout at AC Milan.

**Florian Wirtz (Liverpool):** Wirtz also found the net against Wolves, a team that may struggle this season, but his growth into the role is evident. With key absences in the lineup, he is stepping up to become the player we’ve always anticipated.

**Rayan Cherki (Manchester City):** Cherki continues to be one of the most exciting players to watch globally. His confidence and willingness to experiment on the field, even amidst mistakes, keep fans on the edge of their seats. He concluded the weekend with a goal and an assist, further solidifying his place among the elite.

**Kevin Schade (Brentford):** Scoring a hat-trick guarantees a spot in the Team of the Week, and Schade’s impressive performance has certainly earned him this recognition.

**Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa):** While we typically do not include players who start on the bench, Watkins’ substantial impact in the second half against Chelsea warrants an exception.

**Unai Emery (Aston Villa):** Emery’s tactical acumen led to an astonishing eleven consecutive wins. His in-game management, particularly the decision to substitute in Ollie Watkins, showcased his exceptional coaching capabilities, outmaneuvering Enzo Maresca, a coach regarded highly in the field.
