PSV Considers Temporary Replacement for Injured Ricardo PepiPSV Considers Temporary Replacement for Injured Ricardo Pepi

PSV is contemplating the recruitment of a substitute for the injured Ricardo Pepi, who has sustained a broken arm and is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of six to eight weeks. One name that has surfaced as a potential temporary replacement is Tobias Lauritsen. However, Sparta Rotterdam has made it clear that they do not intend to part with the striker during this transfer window.

Sparta is Firm on Tobias Lauritsen’s Transfer

The 28-year-old Lauritsen is in the final year of his contract in Rotterdam, which could make him an affordable option for PSV. Nevertheless, the management at Sparta holds a different perspective. “We are not just going to let him go,” stated coach Maurice Steijn, as reported by Voetbal International following their victory over Heracles Almelo.

Sparta Expects a Premium for Lauritsen

Lauritsen scored the crucial opening goal in the match against Heracles, highlighting his significance within the team. Steijn emphasized this point, stating, “You again saw how vital he is for the squad and our style of play. Internally, we agree that we do not have a direct replacement ready. He will only leave for a substantial fee. If that happens, we cannot stand in his way; it is not healthy for the club. Losing him would be a significant blow for us. The ideal time to sell players is, of course, in the summer, when you have ample time. I sincerely hope he stays.”
