PSV Refuses Winter Transfer for Captain Jerdy SchoutenPSV Refuses Winter Transfer for Captain Jerdy Schouten

PSV Eindhoven is resolutely opposed to any winter transfer involving captain Jerdy Schouten. Recent inquiries regarding his availability have been met with a firm stance from the club, asserting that Schouten must remain a part of the team.

Galatasaray, among others, expressed serious interest in the midfielder and center-back, but PSV swiftly closed the door on any potential negotiations. Additionally, it appears that Schouten himself is not inclined to move to Turkey. He extended his contract with the leading team and reigning champions until mid-2030 last summer.

In excellent form with PSV, the team recently set a record for consecutive away victories in the Eredivisie by defeating Fortuna Sittard 1-2. After the match, Schouten commented in the Eindhovens Dagblad: “We simply aim to win, especially in challenging away games. While statistics can be interesting, they are not a frequent topic of discussion among us. However, we can take pride in winning fifteen away games consecutively in the league. It’s also encouraging to see our competitors dropping points, and I am honest about that. Nevertheless, our focus remains on our performance and winning our matches. We are far ahead, which is quite unusual.”
