Reported by Mail Sport,

Christian Pulisic has decisively addressed the dating rumors linking him with actress Sydney Sweeney, categorizing the speculation as nothing more than “fake news.” He expressed a desire to put these unfounded claims to rest once and for all.

Speculation surged across social media in recent days following sensational reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, which suggested that Pulisic and Sweeney had been in a relationship for some time. This news left fans in both the football and entertainment spheres astonished.

While reports of Pulisic, often referred to as ‘Captain America,’ being romantically linked to one of the most prominent actresses in the US might not have been entirely unexpected, it came as a surprise given that he was believed to have been dating golfer Alexa Melton earlier this year.

Pulisic clarified that he is not romantically involved with Sweeney, urging fans and the media to cease spreading “made up stories,” noting that such rumors can significantly impact people’s lives.

In a 21-word message shared on his Instagram story on Sunday, Pulisic stated: “Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable; it can affect people’s lives.”

He further called for accountability from those perpetuating the rumors, responding to a social media comment to dismiss the speculation: “Fake news guys, let’s stop with the silly rumor.”

While he did not explicitly mention it in his statement, Pulisic’s remarks may hint at the continuation of his relationship with golfer Melton, given his emphasis on the effects of rumors on individuals’ lives. Pulisic and Melton were first linked romantically during the summer of 2024 and have seemingly maintained their relationship, as evidenced by Melton’s heartfelt birthday message for Pulisic on his 27th birthday in September.

In the meantime, Sweeney has been reported to be involved with music producer Scooter Braun, having been seen together following the premiere of her new film, The Housemaid. The rumors connecting her with Pulisic have now been effectively dispelled.

On the pitch, Pulisic has been showcasing strong form for AC Milan, who are mounting a challenge for the Scudetto under coach Massimiliano Allegri. The Rossoneri recently claimed a commanding 3-0 victory over Hellas Verona, with Pulisic scoring the opening goal in the first half, followed by a brace from fellow former Chelsea player Christopher Nkunku.

Currently, Milan sits at the top of Serie A, leading Napoli by one point and arch-rivals Inter Milan by two after 16 matches, remaining unbeaten in the league since their opening-day loss to newly promoted Cremonese. The team last secured the Scudetto title in the 2021/22 season and is aiming to reclaim the trophy this year after a disappointing absence from European competition in 2024/25.

The year 2026 promises to be significant for Pulisic as he seeks Serie A success with AC Milan while also preparing to represent the USA in a home World Cup next summer. The U.S. will face Paraguay and Australia in Group D, with the final group opponent to be determined by UEFA’s continental play-offs in March. Pulisic aims to play a crucial role as his nation aspires to advance deep into the tournament, and he will undoubtedly appreciate putting the unwanted speculation regarding his personal life behind him.
