Pulisic s Impressive Start Sparks Contract Discussions and Praise from ReynaPulisic s Impressive Start Sparks Contract Discussions and Praise from Reyna

Christian Pulisic is experiencing an exceptional start to the season, having scored 10 goals and provided two assists in just 16 appearances across all competitions. AC Milan is eager to extend his contract, which is currently set to run until 2027, with an option for an additional year. Following the Rossoneri’s failure to qualify for European competition in 2025, the American international reportedly paused contract discussions; however, the Serie A club remains optimistic about securing a longer agreement with him. Milan’s manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is keen to retain his top players for the long term.

In late December, Allegri stated: “The club is working for the future to maintain Milan at a certain level; undoubtedly, there will be extensions for key players. The organization is focused on this initiative.”

Gio Reyna has been quick to commend Pulisic, highlighting not only his performance on the pitch but also his role as an inspiration for many in the United States. He expressed confidence that the two will share “wonderful” moments together at the upcoming World Cup in North America.

Reyna remarked to Milan News: “I have known Christian for many years. Over time, we have developed a strong relationship both on and off the pitch. It is encouraging to witness him influencing the dynamics at Milan. He sets an example for many young children in America, especially for the next generations. There is little to debate: we are discussing an extraordinary player who is, at the same time, a very humble individual. I am thrilled to see him excelling at Milan. We are both still quite young, and I look forward to growing alongside him in our football careers. I am certain we will create memorable experiences together on the national team, particularly during the World Cup.”

When asked about Pulisic’s demeanor, Reyna described him as reserved rather than shy, noting that he prefers listening over speaking. “He is a calm and sophisticated individual whom I greatly admire. Wherever he goes, he radiates positive energy. He is an invaluable asset for the American national soccer team—a leader who inspires through action rather than words.”

Amid his impressive campaign, Pulisic has been linked with a potential transfer to Manchester United; however, such a move currently appears unlikely. Reyna refrained from discussing the possibility of this transfer but acknowledged it as a positive situation for Pulisic.

When asked if he would choose to join United or remain at Milan if he were in Pulisic’s position, Reyna responded: “I am confident he will make the best decision for himself. That is ultimately his choice to make.”

In response to whether such interest represents a good problem to have, the attacking midfielder replied: “Absolutely! I had not heard about this interest, but I believe he will make the right choice. At Milan, however, he is thriving. I just hope he continues to perform well and arrives in peak condition for the World Cup, as we will need him.”

As the American duo gears up for the World Cup, both players are looking to maintain strong performances through the remainder of the season. Interestingly, Reyna was also asked if Pulisic plays similarly to his father, Claudio Reyna, who had a successful career with clubs like Rangers, Bayer Leverkusen, Sunderland, and Manchester City.

Chuckling, he replied: “I didn’t watch my father play enough to make a fair comparison. However, I believe we are discussing different players. Christian is more offensive, whereas my father played more as a midfielder. Pulisic’s strengths lie in his dribbling, assists, runs into the penalty area, and his timing as he enters goal-scoring positions. My father was more of a number 8 or number 6.”
