Rangers Football Club has announced the signing of striker Ryan Naderi from Hansa Rostock, a club in Germany’s third division, for an undisclosed fee.

Naderi, a 22-year-old born in Dresden, has signed what the Ibrox club describes as a “long-term deal.” Since joining Hansa from Borussia Monchengladbach in August 2024, he has made 45 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists. Notably, eight of these goals and five assists have been recorded in just 18 matches during the current season, contributing to Hansa’s sixth-place standing in 3 Liga.

Rangers’ head coach Danny Rohl praised Naderi, stating on the club’s website, “He is still young in terms of his playing career, but he has shown in Germany that he knows the way to goal and contributes with a number of assists due to his high skill level. He possesses a lot of potential, and I believe we can help elevate his game to the next level.”

Expressing his enthusiasm about the transfer, Naderi remarked, “I plan to make the most of this opportunity,” as he embarks on what many see as a significant step up to the Scottish Premiership.

Naderi holds dual German and Bulgarian citizenship through his father and also qualifies for the Czech Republic through his mother. He began his football journey with local club Dynamo Dresden before moving to Borussia Monchengladbach’s academy, eventually playing for their second team prior to his transfer to Hansa.

Naderi’s arrival marks Rangers’ fourth signing during the January transfer window, following the acquisitions of winger Andreas Skov Olsen on loan from Wolfsburg, midfielder Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz, and defender Tuur Rommens from Westerlo.

The transfer deadline day also saw midfielder Joe Rothwell depart for Sheffield United on a permanent basis, while centre-back Clinton Nsiala was loaned to Westerlo with an option to buy.
