RCD Mallorca Prepares for Crucial Upcoming MatchesRCD Mallorca Prepares for Crucial Upcoming Matches

omidbasir- RCD Mallorca has returned to training today following a three-day break intended for both physical and mental recovery, particularly after a challenging start to the season. Under the leadership of coach Jagoba Arrasate, the team has managed to navigate the international break outside of the relegation zone, thanks to their recent victory against Getafe. This win has provided a much-needed boost as they look ahead to the crucial matches in the coming weeks. Except for their match against Villarreal, all upcoming opponents are within three points in the standings and represent direct competition in a pivotal phase of the league.

As the team awaits the return of international players and those recovering from injuries, they have commenced a vital week on the island. This week marks the beginning of crucial encounters against teams currently positioned near the bottom of the table.

Mallorca’s challenging journey kicks off this weekend at “La Cerámica,” where Arrasate’s squad, having accumulated seven points from their last twelve, faces Villarreal. The Villarreal team, which will be engaged in a critical Champions League match against Dortmund just three days later, presents an opportunity for Mallorca to capitalize on potential distractions.

Following the match against Villarreal, Mallorca will enter a series of fixtures against closely ranked opponents, most of whom share the goal of avoiding relegation. The first direct rival will be Osasuna, who currently sit in 16th place and have only garnered one point away from home this season, positioning them one spot and one point below Mallorca, making this clash crucial.

In early December, following a second-round Copa del Rey match in Soria, the next stop is the Carlos Tartiere, where they will face bottom-placed Oviedo, a team desperately in need of points, with only eight accrued this season.

On December 13, Eder Sarabia’s Elche will visit Son Moix. Once a surprise team at the start of the season, Elche has since only managed to secure two points from their last fifteen, placing them three points above Mallorca. The following challenge will come from Valencia, another rival from the Comunidad Valenciana, in the third weekend of December, as they sit outside the relegation zone but tied on ten points with Girona, who will be the first team to visit Mallorca after the Christmas break in another crucial battle for survival.

This series culminates in a visit to Vallecas during the final matchday of the first half of La Liga, where they will take on Rayo. Despite the latter competing in Europe and being a team equipped to secure safety, they are only three points clear of Arrasate’s squad.

With this demanding schedule, it can be said that each victory holds double the value, as winning a match is already a significant challenge for Mallorca this season. Achieving success against direct rivals not only boosts morale but also prevents those points from being accrued by competitors in close proximity on the league table.
