Richard Bone, the assistant kitman for Reading Football Club, has been penalized by the Football Association for making a homophobic remark directed at match referee Matt Corlett.

The incident occurred during the first half of Reading’s match against Huddersfield on August 9, 2025, and the comment was overheard by the fourth official. Following the incident, Bone admitted to the charge and has subsequently received a six-match stadium ban, a £200 fine, and is required to undergo mandatory education.

In that match, the Terriers secured a victory over the Royals, with two goals scored in the second half.
