Despite the financial implications, Schlotterbeck has become the top target on Madrid’s internal “wish list” for the centre-back position. The player himself is reportedly open to the possibility of moving to Santiago Bernabeu, though he has yet to make a definitive decision regarding his future. Dortmund, on the other hand, would prefer to sell him to a foreign club rather than allowing him to move to Bayern.

“We have been engaging in constructive and trustful discussions for some time, and a decision will be made in due course,” Kehl stated. “This will certainly not be postponed until sometime in the summer; all parties involved agree on that.”
