omidbasir- Tijjani Reijnders has issued a warning to Arsenal, stating that Manchester City is firmly “on the hunt” for the Premier League title.

In recent days, City has intensified the pressure on the Gunners by narrowing their lead at the top of the table to just four points, thanks to victories against Liverpool and Fulham.

Pep Guardiola’s side also advanced in the FA Cup with a 2-0 triumph over League Two’s Salford on Saturday, maintaining their momentum across various competitions.

Reijnders commented, “The mood has been positive, and it was good before as well. Naturally, we’ve dropped some points, but we are on the hunt and will keep pushing forward. If we continue like this, who knows what might happen?”

When City faced Salford in the third round last year, they secured an emphatic 8-0 victory. However, their recent encounter at the Etihad Stadium took a more subdued turn.

City took the lead in the fourth-round match after an own goal by Alfie Dorrington just six minutes in, but they did not exert themselves significantly thereafter.

This allowed Salford to find their footing, with former Liverpool midfielder Ben Woodburn and Brandon Cooper both coming close to equalizing before halftime, although City remained composed.

Marc Guéhi, who recently participated in Crystal Palace’s defeat to Macclesfield last month, came off the bench to seal the victory with his first goal for the club late in the match.

Reijnders played the full 90 minutes, having been one of nine players rotated by Guardiola for this encounter.

He noted, “Of course, they didn’t want a repeat of last season’s match, so they focused on defending. It was sometimes challenging to find space between the lines and create chances, but the most important thing is that we are through to the next round.”

This season marks Reijnders’ first at Manchester City, following a £46.5 million transfer from AC Milan last summer. The 27-year-old expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Fortunately, I’ve already played many games, and the coach has allowed me time to adapt. I really enjoy it here. I love the Premier League, and especially the team I’m playing for now.”
