omidbasir- As he prepares for his inaugural home match with Eintracht Frankfurt, head coach Albert Riera has issued a strong message to Borussia Mönchengladbach regarding what to expect on Saturday.

Riera has already made a name for himself as an engaging and animated presence in press conferences. Last weekend, when questioned about Union Berlin, he humorously demonstrated with gestures that their style of play is predominantly direct, or ‘route one.’

In his first interaction with the media, the 43-year-old notably remarked that his players would be willing to jump off a balcony if he commanded it. However, the primary concern for Frankfurt this season isn’t about extreme measures; rather, it is their difficulties in maintaining clean sheets. This season, the Eagles have conceded 46 goals, a figure only surpassed by the last-placed FC Heidenheim, which has allowed 47.

In response to Riera’s remarks, Gladbach’s coach Eugen Polanski indicated that his team would aim to exploit Frankfurt’s defensive vulnerabilities during their upcoming match.

Riera’s reply was assertive: “He will see a completely different team tomorrow. We will defend much better. We defend through possession, and when we lose the ball, we won’t give them a chance to breathe.”

A victory in matchday 22 would elevate Frankfurt to 31 points, an essential step as they seek to improve their standing and contend for European football next season. Tomorrow presents a significant opportunity to begin that journey.
