Robin van Persie is currently facing serious challenges at Feyenoord. The team’s results have been disappointing, their gameplay lacks quality, and tensions between the coach and several players are becoming increasingly evident. Midfielder Quinten Timber has openly criticized Van Persie, and goalkeeper Justin Bijlow also seems to have a strained relationship with him.

The conflict with Timber escalated following a 3-4 defeat against Sparta, where Timber, who is on the verge of transferring to Olympique Marseille, voiced his frustrations in an interview with ESPN. He stated, “This has happened several times where the coach does not defend a player, in my case it happened again. There’s a limit. Everyone at the club knows I always give my all during matches, even when playing out of position at right-back. It feels like a farce.”

However, Timber is not the only player with whom Van Persie is struggling. Feyenoord analyst Martijn Krabbendam predicts significant issues for the coach in the discussion on VoetbalPraat. He remarks, “This situation is doomed to fail. I believe it is irreversible. Timber may leave, but Bijlow is also not on good terms with the coach. With Stengs already gone and Hartman also having left, you can remove all these players, but if a coach loses the locker room, it creates a tremendous problem and is very difficult to rectify.”

Additionally, Bijlow is reportedly contemplating a move to the Italian club Genoa.
