Rodrygo s Future at Real Madrid in Question Amidst Growing PressureRodrygo s Future at Real Madrid in Question Amidst Growing Pressure

Rodrygo has been a part of Real Madrid since 2019, when the club recognized his significant potential. He is approaching 300 appearances for Los Blancos, contributing to the team with 70 goals. During his time in Spain, he has helped secure both domestic titles and Champions League victories.

However, with the emergence of talents like Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo faces stiff competition for attacking positions in Xabi Alonso’s plans. This has led to speculation about Rodrygo’s future, as he is seen as too talented to remain on the bench.

According to reports from SPORT, Rodrygo is weighing his options and is currently in discussions with two prominent agents to enhance his representation. His father, Eric Goes, has been managing his affairs, yet his lack of professional experience in this area has reportedly strained their relationship with Real Madrid over the past year.

While Rodrygo has not expressed an intention to transfer during the winter window of 2026, he is looking to evaluate potential future opportunities. Clubs in England, including Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool, have reportedly shown interest in his availability, encouraging Rodrygo to seek out more experienced negotiators to manage his career.

Real Madrid, however, appears hesitant to entertain any offers for the player. Alonso has consistently emphasized Rodrygo’s importance to the team’s efforts, despite the challenges in integrating him fully into the squad. When asked about ongoing speculation surrounding Rodrygo, Alonso stated, “There have been a lot of rumors. He is doing well. I want him to be fully committed to the team and to give 100%. I rely on everyone present in training. That’s what concerns and occupies me right now.”

He further asserted, “We must believe and trust Rodrygo. Nobody doubts his quality; he’s a top player with the right attitude. We’re waiting for him to break this negative moment with a goal, which would help him regain that positive feeling after a strong performance.”

Reports suggest that Rodrygo has been contemplating a departure since the beginning of the season, although his situation remains uncertain. Additionally, there are questions regarding Vinicius’ future at the Bernabeu, as he is attracting attention from the financially robust Saudi Pro League. Should Vinicius leave, it could create an opportunity for Rodrygo to assume a more prominent role, potentially encouraging him to remain at the club and sign a contract extension.

If Rodrygo does seek a new challenge, he is likely to receive several offers. Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, praised Rodrygo after facing Real Madrid in the Champions League, stating, “I told Rodrygo how good he is. He’s a player from another… this boy is a player from another level. I’m glad he’s back from injury. He’s very, very good.”

This seems to indicate that City may be interested in acquiring Rodrygo, although they are reportedly close to finalizing a £65 million deal for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo. Arsenal may also express interest if Gabriel Martinelli departs Emirates Stadium, while Liverpool continues to deal with speculation surrounding their star player, Mohamed Salah.
