Al Nassr continued their impeccable start to the Saudi Pro League season with an impressive 4-1 victory over Al Khaleej on Sunday. Key contributors to the success included Cristiano Ronaldo and other high-profile signings from the club.

Ronaldo capped off the dominant performance in the 96th minute with a stunning overhead kick, showcasing his enduring skill at the age of 40. Despite the efforts of Al Khaleej goalkeeper Anthony Moris, who got his hands on the ball, Ronaldo’s strike found the back of the net.

This goal marked the 954th of Ronaldo’s illustrious career and reinforced Al Nassr’s position at the top of the league, as they have now won all nine of their opening fixtures, leading by four points.

The overhead kick added to Ronaldo’s already remarkable collection of acrobatic goals, being the fourth of its kind in his extensive career. One memorable overhead kick that didn’t count came during a Euro 2008 qualifier against Azerbaijan on October 7, 2006. Ronaldo executed a stunning bicycle kick, but the officials failed to recognize that the ball had crossed the line due to the absence of goal-line technology.

Though not technically categorized as an overhead kick, Ronaldo made an unforgettable impression with a scissor kick in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands, scoring just two minutes into the match.

In another notable performance a year prior, Ronaldo scored twice against Poland in the UEFA Nations League, one of which was a well-placed volley from close range.

The most iconic overhead kick of Ronaldo’s career occurred during the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, where he scored a breathtaking volley against Juventus. This goal was later honored as the best of the tournament by UEFA, solidifying Ronaldo’s legacy as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
