Rangers Football Club has announced the signing of striker Ryan Naderi from German third-tier club Hansa Rostock for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old, born in Dresden, has secured what the Ibrox club describes as a “long-term deal.” Naderi has made a notable impact in his 45 appearances for Hansa, netting 13 goals and registering nine assists since his transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach in August 2024. This season alone, he has scored eight times and provided five assists in just 18 matches, helping his team maintain a position in the upper tier of 3 Liga.

Rangers’ head coach, Danny Rohl, expressed confidence in Naderi’s abilities, stating on the club’s website, “Although he is still early in his playing career, he has demonstrated a keen eye for goal and has contributed significantly with assists due to his high skill level. He possesses considerable potential, and I believe we can help elevate his game to new heights.”

Reflecting on the opportunity to join Rangers, Naderi remarked, “I plan to make the most of this opportunity as I take this step up to the Scottish Premiership.”

Naderi holds dual citizenship in Germany and Bulgaria through his father, and he is also eligible to represent the Czech Republic through his mother. He began his career at local club Dynamo Dresden before progressing to the Monchengladbach academy, where he played for their second team prior to his transfer to Hansa.

With Naderi’s arrival, he becomes Rangers’ fourth signing of the January transfer window, following the acquisition of winger Andreas Skov Olsen on loan from Wolfsburg, midfielder Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz, and defender Tuur Rommens from Westerlo.

This transfer deadline day also saw midfielder Joe Rothwell depart for Sheffield United on a permanent deal, while centre-back Clinton Nsiala was loaned to Westerlo with an option to buy.

Fans are encouraged to share their opinions on Rangers’ winter transfer activities and the potential impact of these signings on the team’s title ambitions.
