Sandro Declares Support for Wrexham Amid Championship Surge

Former Tottenham and Brazil midfielder Sandro has openly stated his admiration for Wrexham, a sentiment sparked by the club’s captivating story depicted in their Disney+ documentary. Under the guidance of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham has ascended from the fifth-tier National League to the precipice of the Premier League, currently sitting ninth in the Championship, just one point shy of the playoff spots.

Sandro is optimistic about the potential addition of Matheus Pereira, believing the player could be instrumental in Wrexham’s push for promotion. Pereira, who previously showcased his talent with West Bromwich Albion from 2019 to 2021, is seen as an ideal fit for the club.

In an interview with BOYLE Sports, Sandro remarked, “To have these individuals, who are actors, harbor dreams of acquiring a club with such a rich footballing history is remarkable. They have meticulously built the team, recruited exceptional staff, and progressed incrementally with new players.

“The Wrexham documentary resonated globally, showcasing a beautiful narrative that has captivated fans, including Brazilian players who are eager to make the transition here. Competing in the Championship is undoubtedly tough, but should they secure a place in the Premier League, the appeal will extend not just in Brazil but worldwide. The Premier League is unparalleled; it is the best league in the world.”

Wrexham has enjoyed a remarkable run during the festive period, winning their last four matches against teams such as Sheffield United, Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers, and Derby County. Despite the growing optimism regarding their promotion ambitions, midfielder Matty James emphasizes the team’s focus on taking it one game at a time.
