Scott Banks Transfers to Barnsley Following Loan Termination at BlackpoolScott Banks Transfers to Barnsley Following Loan Termination at Blackpool

omidbasir- Scott Banks, a former Scottish U21 international, is set to change his loan destination once again. On Monday, FC St. Pauli, his Bundesliga club, announced that the 24-year-old’s loan agreement with Blackpool has been terminated early. Despite this, Banks will continue to play in the English third division by joining Barnsley for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Last season, Banks made 12 appearances for St. Pauli and contributed one assist. His performance during a pre-season friendly this summer raised expectations that he might secure more playtime with the German club. FC St. Pauli had previously recognized Banks’ potential, investing €400,000 to acquire him from Crystal Palace.

Although Banks faced challenges in securing consistent playing time at Blackpool, he did manage to score four goals across EFL and FA Cup competitions. His estimated market value of €450,000 aligns closely with the sum FC St. Pauli paid for his services, indicating that his potential remains intact.
