Sevilla Appoints Antonio Tramullas as New Medical DirectorSevilla Appoints Antonio Tramullas as New Medical Director

Sevilla FC has officially announced a change in its medical services leadership, appointing Antonio Tramullas as the new Director of Sports Medicine and Performance. This department has been a significant concern for the club in recent years, having dealt with recurring muscle injury issues. Tramullas replaces Matías Morán Bravo, who stepped into this role as part of a departmental restructuring in the summer of 2024.

At 67 years old, Tramullas joins Sevilla with an impressive resume. Born in Barcelona, he received his education at the University of Barcelona, the University of London, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. For over two decades, he has worked with various sports institutions, including FC Barcelona, where he served as a physician for both the football and basketball first teams from 1999 to 2012. His experience also includes roles with the Euroleague Basketball, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Al Sadd, and Sydney FC. Additionally, between 2013 and 2019, he was the medical director at the world-renowned Aspire Academy Sports Medicine Center in Qatar.

Tramullas’s appointment comes at a critical time. The arrival of Antonio Cordón at Sevilla encompasses much more than just the player transfer market. The club’s medical department has been a topic of ongoing discussion due to frequent changes, even during the season. By bringing in a figure as experienced as Tramullas, Sevilla aims not only to rectify its recent poor performances but also to establish stability within the department.

As Sevilla resumed training last Sunday, Tramullas was already present at the José Ramón Cisneros Sports City to familiarize himself with the facilities and begin his work.
