Sevilla Eyes Potential Signing of Manchester City s Oscar BobbSevilla Eyes Potential Signing of Manchester City s Oscar Bobb

As the January transfer window draws near, reports are increasingly highlighting footballers likely to change clubs. Sevilla is one of the teams expected to make significant moves, as they need to generate a profit of approximately 10 million euros from sales. To strengthen their squad, the Sevillian club must not only increase this figure but also offload players who have had limited involvement, such as Álvaro Ferllo, Ramón Martínez, and Federico Gattoni. Meanwhile, the speculation surrounding potential signings continues to intensify.

According to talkSPORT, Sevilla is closely monitoring the situation of Oscar Bobb, a promising young talent from Manchester City, who is also being watched by clubs like Fulham and Crystal Palace. Bobb is a left winger who typically plays from the right flank, but he is versatile enough to operate in various positions within the attacking line. German newspaper Bild has also reported interest from Borussia Dortmund, who may consider requesting a loan with an option to buy.

After a strong start to the season with City, Bobb’s prominence in the team has diminished. Consequently, the Norwegian international may be inclined to seek more playing time elsewhere ahead of the upcoming World Cup. Pep Guardiola would only allow him to leave if he can secure the signing of Antoine Semenyo, a winger from Bournemouth who is being pursued by several Premier League clubs. A loan option seems to be the most viable solution for all parties involved, as the Citizens believe the 22-year-old has first-rate potential.

Since making his debut for the first team in September 2023, Oscar Bobb has played 47 matches with Manchester City. His progress was hampered last season due to a leg fracture that sidelined him for a significant portion of the 2024-25 campaign. This season, he has started in nine matches, contributing an assist in the league opener against Wolves. However, competition in his position is fierce, with notable players such as Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden, Savinho, and even Bernardo Silva.

With a market value of 25 million euros according to Transfermarkt, Bobb requires consistent playing time to continue his development. Sevilla presents an excellent opportunity for him to showcase his talents in a highly competitive league like La Liga. Nevertheless, the primary focus for the Andalusian club during this transfer window is to acquire a forward, meaning that Bobb’s arrival would only be feasible if there is an outgoing transfer, particularly that of Rubén Vargas.
