At the conclusion of this morning’s training session at the sports city, the Sevilla FC first team held a toast to welcome the upcoming year 2026, which begins in just a few hours. The coaching staff and players, alongside President José María del Nido Carrasco, Vice President José Castro, and Director of Professional Football Antonio Cordón, raised their glasses to wish for a successful year both on and off the field.

Matías Almeyda expressed his gratitude for 2025, stating, “I am thankful for many things in life, especially for arriving here and getting to know all of you. I am particularly grateful to the players; over these months, we have grown closer in our relentless pursuit characterized by your dedication. This is the path for 2026. I believe we have found our way, and though it is challenging, we will continue with strength, energy, and perseverance. Know that we will fight until the last day of our contract, or until you want us to, giving it our all.”

Captain Nemanja Gudelj also addressed those present, extending wishes for a Happy New Year and emphasizing the importance of health for their excellent group. He concluded by stating, “Next year, we must aim for more.”

To wrap up the gathering, President José María del Nido Carrasco delivered a message of hope and ambition: “The year 2025 has been foundational for this new project, thanks to the commitment of everyone involved, although the players are the main protagonists. For 2026, let us strive for a successful year, working with ambition and enthusiasm. We will begin January with an exciting schedule of three home matches; we must establish ourselves strongly at home, making it clear to anyone who visits that they will face a challenging match against our supporters. May injuries spare us, and may we achieve both our personal and collective goals.”
