Sevilla Prepares for Challenging Match Against ElcheSevilla Prepares for Challenging Match Against Elche

Sevilla FC is currently preparing for their upcoming match against Elche, scheduled for Monday at 21:00 hours at the Martínez Valero Stadium. This encounter presents a challenging opportunity to initiate the second half of the league season positively, particularly in light of recent performances. Unfortunately, the team will face limitations due to several player absences, which could affect Almeyda’s selection for the starting lineup.

This morning, the Nervionense squad conducted training at the sports city following a rest day. The session featured both new arrivals and confirmed absences on the field. Marcao has rejoined the team but is suspended and will not be able to participate in the match. Additionally, Suazo has completed another training session. Confirmed absentees include Vargas, Azpilicueta, and Alfon. Meanwhile, Akor Adams and Ejuke, who competed in the semifinals of the Africa Cup, will play for third place on Saturday, which may affect their availability.

Notably, both Djibril Sow and Alexis Sánchez missed today’s group training, opting for specific workouts in the gym instead. Sow is a key player for Almeyda, while Sánchez is recovering from a pelvic contusion sustained before the match against Celta, which limited his participation to approximately 30 minutes in the second half.
