Sevilla s Spirit Ignited Ahead of Betis DerbySevilla s Spirit Ignited Ahead of Betis Derby

As LaLiga prepares for its return following the international break, anticipation builds for Sevilla’s visit to Espanyol on Monday, the 24th, especially with the derby against Betis heating up.

During the Encuentro de Peñas Sevillistas event held this weekend in Torrox, Joaquín Caparrós was questioned about the current state of Sevilla and the upcoming match on the 30th. Known for his passionate support, he remarked, “The spirit of Sevilla is very much alive and impressive. While other teams might dominate the headlines a bit more than us, it’s only a fraction of the coverage, and we have been growing and winning numerous titles for over a century.”

When asked if he was referring to Betis, Caparrós replied, “That’s your interpretation. I simply point out that there are teams enjoying more media attention, making it seem like they have achieved everything.”

“For us, these matches are different; we approach them with optimism. We believe in our coach, who is doing a remarkable job alongside our sporting director, and thus we face this challenge positively. Our coach knows how to motivate his players, having experienced the intensity of a derby in Sevilla himself; no one is better suited to inspire them than he is,” he continued.

He added, “When the players step onto the field, turning to their left and seeing the Biris, with the entire stadium full of color and enthusiasm, the passion surges. The Biris are the soul, the heart, the competitive fuel for our players, alongside the rest of the crowd.” Caparrós exhibited his unwavering commitment and enthusiasm.
