skarsson Reflects on Return and Team Spirit After Injuryskarsson Reflects on Return and Team Spirit After Injury

omidbasir- Orri Óskarsson acknowledges that the goal he scored against Deportivo Alavés two weeks ago, which secured a 3-2 victory and advancement to the semifinals of the Copa del Rey, has been immensely significant for him following over four months sidelined due to injury. The Icelandic forward expressed his gratitude to the txuriurdin fans for their chants dedicated to him, despite his lengthy absence from the pitch.

Óskarsson has been given playing time in nearly every match under coach Matarazzo and appears to be improving his performance after his long injury layoff. “I believe each day I feel better and more confident, and yes, I think this is my best moment of the season, but I want to achieve even more,” he stated.

The striker emphasized the importance of his goal against Deportivo Alavés, saying, “I have faced many injuries, and I want to help the team to the fullest. The goal against Alavés was crucial as it was my first after the injury and also helped us qualify for the semifinals.”

While Óskarsson remains cautious about the prospect of reaching the final, he remarked, “We have one more match at Anoeta, and we are in a good position to make it to the final.”

In a more spirited tone, he discussed the song the Real Sociedad fans sing, urging him to lead them to the decisive cup match in Seville. “It’s quite popular, isn’t it? All of my teammates in the locker room always play the music loudly, and my friends send me videos of when the fans sang it during the match against Elche. I want to thank the fans for singing it in the stadium after four months of not playing due to injury. I believe it is very beneficial for me and the team.”
