Rap icon and Swansea City investor Snoop Dogg has expressed his ambition to return the club to the Premier League, aiming to establish it as a prominent global name.

The 54-year-old has been involved with the Welsh club since last summer, contributing to the launch of their kit and partnering with Luka Modric as an investor.

In a recent interview with WalesOnline, Snoop Dogg stated, “I want to be very hands-on; I aim to guide the club in a direction it may not have explored before. We are determined to bring Swansea back to the Premier League, and achieving that will require financial investment — this is the reality of modern football.”

He added, “My goal is to introduce sponsorship deals and publicity initiatives that will elevate Swansea to a global stature.”

American businesswoman Martha Stewart also joined Snoop Dogg and Modric as an investor last month.

“It’s essential that we find the right fit,” he remarked. “I have invested, Martha has invested, and my friend Luka has invested. We need individuals who can contribute more than just financial resources. They should bring soccer expertise, connections, and a recognizable brand that can attract attention and revenue — that’s what is required to sit at this table.”

Although Snoop has yet to meet the club’s devoted supporters, he considers it a top priority. “I genuinely want to connect with the fans, as they are a significant reason for my investment in the team. I have always dreamed of investing in a soccer team, and it was simply a matter of waiting for the right opportunity. These fans are passionate and authentic, and I want to hear their thoughts when I visit Swansea.”

Swansea City last competed in the Premier League from 2011 to 2018, coming closest to promotion in 2021 when they lost 2-0 to Brentford in the Championship playoff final before a limited crowd at Wembley.

“While it’s a long-term project, we must continue to dream for this season,” Snoop explained, reflecting on Swansea’s mid-table position in a competitive Championship. “In this league, it’s crucial to believe that a playoff spot is within reach; dreaming is an essential part of the game.”
