omidbasir- Sofyan Amrabat underwent arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday in Amsterdam, where Dr. Gino Kerkhoffs performed a joint cleaning procedure on his right ankle. This surgery was aimed at alleviating the discomfort Amrabat has experienced since a significant impact with Isco in late November, during a UEFA Europa League match between Betis and Utrecht at La Cartuja.

The medical report released by Real Betis’ medical staff, who were present during the procedure, stated that the player will begin his initial phase of postoperative recovery in the Netherlands and will subsequently continue his rehabilitation in Seville. This marks the beginning of his journey back to the field, as confirmed by the Moroccan midfielder through videos shared on his social media profiles in recent hours.

In the shared footage, the Moroccan international is seen working out in the gym, still wearing protective gear on his operated ankle. While Betis has not provided a specific timeline for Amrabat’s return, it is anticipated that, barring any complications, he could be back in action within one to one and a half months. The club is cautious, opting not to rush either Amrabat or Isco, who is also sidelined, ensuring both players are fully recovered from their injuries before they return to contribute at their optimal levels in the season’s final stretch.

Isco, who underwent surgery at the end of December, remains another player from Betis without a fixed return date. Meanwhile, Cucho Hernández is expected to make his comeback next Thursday in the Copa del Rey against Atlético de Madrid. Other players, such as Junior and Riquelme, are also pushing through their recovery processes. Bellerín will require an additional two to three weeks, while Lo Celso has undergone extensive medical examinations and is awaiting to determine the full extent of his injury.
