Souffian El Karouani Completes Season with FC Utrecht

Souffian El Karouani will complete the season with FC Utrecht, despite receiving interest from various clubs. The wing-back is expected to leave the club on a free transfer next summer.

El Karouani has emphasized his desire for clarity regarding his future. Following the departure of teammate Derry John Murkin to Derby County, El Karouani remained with FC Utrecht. In an interview with Voetbal International, he remarked, “I don’t want to say too much about it, but it has been a busy time with many developments. It could have gone the other way, with me leaving and Murkin staying. Choices have been made.”

Despite FC Utrecht’s challenging period, El Karouani remains optimistic about their upcoming match against NEC. He stated, “Yes, I am aware of NEC’s position in the league, but any team can win against another. That’s the nature of the Eredivisie now; it’s not like six years ago when a match against Ajax meant merely watching. We can win against any team.”
