Following the dismissal of John Heitinga from Ajax, discussions regarding potential successors are intensifying. Erik ten Hag is frequently cited as the leading candidate, along with other notable figures such as Alex Pastoor and Frank de Boer. However, during the SBS 6 program “Nieuws van de Dag,” a surprising name was brought forward: Sarina Wiegman.

Noa Vahle, a reporter from the program, explained why Ten Hag is at the top of Ajax’s shortlist. “He is the most logical candidate, given his familiarity with the club. I believe he could extract more from this squad than John Heitinga did. However, I don’t think he can lead them to a championship, nor do I see them in the top two or three.”
