Speculations Surround Ajax’s Next Technical Director

The hosts of Vandaag Inside are eager to learn who will succeed Fred Grim at Ajax after this season. It is quite possible that the new technical director, Jordi Cruijff, may opt for a Spanish candidate.

Will it be Dick Schreuder, or perhaps another Spanish misstep?

Johan Derksen advocated for Ajax to quickly secure Dick Schreuder, stating, “If I were Ajax, I would immediately lock in Dick Schreuder. He has demonstrated his capabilities at PEC Zwolle and NEC. One can conclude that he truly understands his craft, even without top-tier talent.” René van der Gijp concurred, adding, “Absolutely. Just look at how he performed at Feyenoord in both halves. He implements changes effectively and consistently comes out strong from the locker room. That’s quite impressive.”

Valentijn Driessen takes the discussion further, noting that the so-called ‘Spanish invasion’ has already begun: “The first one is already here. There is a Spanish advisor involved (Joel Lara, ed.). Why would a technical director need an advisor?” Derksen replied, “Both of them only possess a network and knowledge of Spain. They come here and know no one!”
