Steven Gerrard’s Ambitions for Joey Veerman at Rangers FC

Steven Gerrard, the renowned former footballer for Liverpool FC and the English national team, later transitioned into coaching, taking on the role at Rangers FC. During his tenure, Gerrard had his sights set on signing none other than Joey Veerman.

In 2021, the Scottish club aimed to acquire Veerman from sc Heerenveen. “We had already signed John Lundstram, but alongside him, we wanted Joey Veerman,” Gerrard revealed in an interview with TNT Sports. “He was priced at six million pounds (approximately seven million euros at the time). It would have been a dream scenario to have both of them in our midfield.”
