As VfB Stuttgart aims to bolster their squad during the January transfer window, they have placed Nottingham Forest forward Arnaud Kalimuendo on their shortlist.

According to Florian Plettenberg, discussions have already commenced between Stuttgart and Kalimuendo’s representatives. Despite the forward’s lack of goals for his new club, Nottingham Forest remains supportive of their summer signing. Kalimuendo joined Forest from Rennes for €30 million, securing a contract that extends until 2030. Thus far, he has accumulated only 217 minutes on the pitch across nine matches, while the club finds itself struggling in 19th place in the Premier League, having achieved just two victories in 11 outings.

In contrast, Stuttgart is enjoying a successful season in the Bundesliga, currently positioned fourth and trailing second-placed RB Leipzig by just one point. The team, however, is facing challenges due to the absence of Ermedin Demirović, who is expected to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks due to a foot injury. Fortunately, Deniz Undav has regained his fitness and has been in excellent form, netting four goals in his last five appearances across all competitions.
