TAD Suspends Partial Closure Sanction for Sevilla FCTAD Suspends Partial Closure Sanction for Sevilla FC

The Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) has suspended the partial closure sanction affecting various sectors of the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium due to events that transpired during the derby against Betis. Consequently, fans will be able to attend the upcoming match this Sunday against Levante, marking Sevilla FC’s first league game after the Christmas break.

It is important to note that the Appeals Committee had already imposed a partial closure for one match while simultaneously reducing the financial penalty levied, thus lessening the initial punishment imposed by the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). As the TAD examines the case, the sanction will not be executed, as confirmed by the club in a press release issued this evening.

The initial sanctions from the RFEF’s Disciplinary Committee involved a partial closure of the North Goal Stand for three matches, along with a financial penalty of €45,000 for Sevilla FC due to incidents classified as “very serious” during the latest derby. The Appeals Committee reclassified these events as “serious” and reduced the penalty. Now, the TAD has paused the enforcement of this punishment while reviewing the Andalusian club’s appeal.
