Tanzania Secures Spot in AFCON Round of 16 with Draw Against TunisiaTanzania Secures Spot in AFCON Round of 16 with Draw Against Tunisia

Tanzania has successfully advanced to the Round of 16 in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following a crucial draw against Tunisia on December 30 at the Rabat Olympic Stadium.

The match began with Tunisia dominating early on, yet Tanzania’s defense initially held firm. However, a moment of poor defending by Ibrahim Hamad resulted in a penalty, which Ismael Gharbi converted without hesitation, giving Tunisia a well-deserved lead.

In the second half, Tanzania responded strongly, drawing level thanks to a powerful strike from Feisal Salum, who plays for Kaizer Chiefs and received a well-timed pass from Novatus Miroshi.

This draw ensured that Tanzania finished among the top three teams in their group, thus securing their place in the knockout phase of the tournament. They are set to face hosts Morocco on January 4.

In Group C, Nigeria and Tunisia finished in first and second place, respectively.
