A day after Raúl Martín Presa’s response to Mario Suárez, who criticized the current state of Rayo Vallecano and the recent remarks by Lech Poznań, the former footballer addressed the claims made by the club’s president. In an interview on ‘El Partidazo de Cope’, Suárez stated, “It would be serious if this came from someone credible.”

On Monday, Martín Presa commented on RNE that Suárez was bitter about his departure from Rayo and suggested that his statements did not reflect the true situation at Estadio de Vallecas: “This attitude stems from resentment. If I had listened to him, I would have dismissed Andoni Iraola in his first year.”

In response, Suárez, who played for Rayo Vallecano, asserted on Cope that “I have only stated facts and realities. I am straightforward. I hold no animosity toward Martín Presa. It would be serious if this came from someone credible…”

Regarding the president’s comments on Iraola, Suárez candidly said, “I have messages from teammates who were there at the time, and they told me, ‘It’s bold because you always defended Andoni in the locker room when times were tough.’ Presa called several players and asked if he should fire Andoni. A teammate replied that we do not do that.”

“Would I have loved to renew with Rayo? Absolutely. What resentment do I have? Zero resentment, only gratitude. I speak from the feelings I hold for Rayo,” the former Spanish international emphasized.

“The president has my number; if he wants to talk, he can text me. I have reached out, but he has not responded…” Suárez added following Martín Presa’s controversial comments on Monday.
