When asked about the most surprising event of the first half of the season, he stated, “It was the speed at which John Heitinga was dismissed.” He expressed strong disagreement with Ajax’s choice, noting the relentless criticism Heitinga received from the media. “The media just kept attacking him. They sawed at his legs until he fell. I doubt your mother would be proud of you if you behaved like that as a journalist.”
