Professional football players occupy a unique status that sets them apart from typical workers. They do not fall into the categories of low-income earners, such as those making around a thousand or two thousand euros per month.

This distinction primarily excludes players in the 1st RFEF and lower divisions, as those competing in these leagues are acutely aware from a young age that they will not have a sustainable career in football. For many, the sport is not a viable profession that will support their families. Consequently, these players often pursue academic degrees and qualifications or prepare for alternative careers to secure their futures once their time in the lower divisions, such as the former 3rd Division or 2nd B, comes to an end.
