Thomas Frank has achieved 11 wins in his 28 matches since taking charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

Following the recent goalless draw against Brentford, Frank expressed his understanding of the frustrations felt by Tottenham supporters, especially after receiving boos from the away fans.

In a poignant return to Gtech Stadium, where he previously managed Brentford, Frank was initially greeted with a standing ovation. However, the atmosphere shifted later in the match as Spurs supporters chanted “boring, boring Tottenham” in response to the lackluster performance.

The result left Tottenham in 12th position in the Premier League, having secured only two victories in their last ten matches.

When asked about the fans’ reactions, Frank remarked, “I would like to turn that question around and say that if we are successful, the Tottenham fans will rally behind us. While I did hear the boos last night, I am confident there are many fans who support us. I fully understand and share their frustration.”

Regarding the match itself, Frank was unable to call upon several key players due to injuries, including James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, and Dejan Kulusevski, with Xavi Simons also serving a suspension.

He acknowledged the need for continued improvement but noted that there are positive aspects to build upon. “It’s not perfect; our goal is to become a free-flowing team. However, I want to highlight our last two away performances, as we have established a solid defensive foundation, which is crucial. We have learned to manage transitions effectively.”

Frank, who previously spent seven years managing Brentford, pointed out that the team is in a transitional phase. “While we aim for better performances, factors such as the squad’s injuries and overall club dynamics contribute to our current situation,” he said.

Tottenham is set to face Sunderland in their next match on Sunday at 15:00 GMT.
