The club seeks to strengthen its midfield following a serious knee injury to Boubacar Kamara, 26, a French international. Exploratory discussions have also taken place regarding Loftus-Cheek’s potential transfer to Manchester United.

In addition, Aston Villa has expressed interest in Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri, 28, who is expected to make a decision about his future soon, with Napoli and Juventus also in the running.
