Appointing an interim coach also appears to be off the table, according to the newspaper.

The future of Fred Grim as the head coach remains uncertain. Nonetheless, the Algemeen Dagblad indicates that he will continue to play a role at Ajax. “If the club appoints a new coach who does not retain him on the staff, he will revert to his position as Head of Coaching. Whether he leads Ajax against Excelsior and Benfica will depend on the speed of the ongoing search for a new coach.”

In terms of new technical directors, the report suggests that Ten Hag faces challenges, particularly regarding his potential collaboration with other staff members. “Kroes, who has a good understanding of the Tukker through his management at SEG and even had coffee with him last week, has made it clear after Heitinga’s dismissal that Ten Hag has not convinced him to remain with the club as technical director beyond this season.”
